Safety notes
General wellbeing information, not medical advice.
In the app, each routine shows one short safety line. These are the full notes behind them. Ottan is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition.
Morning Light
Do not look directly at the sun, and avoid any light bright enough to be painful. Follow normal eye and skin safety. If you have an eye condition or take medication that makes you sensitive to light, ask a clinician first.
Post-Meal Walk
Walk at an easy pace. If you have a condition that limits activity, check with a clinician about what suits you.
Fasting
Fasting is not right for everyone. Talk to a clinician first if you have diabetes or take medication that lowers blood sugar, are pregnant or breastfeeding, are under 18, have or have had an eating disorder, or have any medical condition. With insulin or other glucose-lowering medicine, fasting can raise the risk of low blood sugar or ketoacidosis. Stop and eat if you feel unwell.
Fasts longer than a day
The app caps new fasting goals at 24 hours. Past a day and past three days, it also shows these notes:
- Fasts longer than a day carry more risk. Consider doing them only with medical supervision.
- Fasts beyond three days carry added risks, including when eating starts again. Seek medical guidance.
Dim Evening
Keep enough light to move around safely, especially on stairs. If you often have trouble sleeping or feel very sleepy during the day, talk to a clinician.
Caffeine
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a heart condition, take medication or are under 18, lower amounts may apply to you: ask a clinician or pharmacist. Some morning medicines work less well when taken with coffee; ask your pharmacist how long to wait.
